6-year-old Female

Helllooo, Humans! I could really use some help, please! My name is Gracie and I lived with one lucky human for all of my 6 years. Things were great but my hu mom became ill and decided it would be best for me to go into rescue and find a home with a little more action. So, here I am. Folks, I gotta tell you things are not all rainbows and unicorns around here. My foster parents are crazy! First of all, they only play tug or fetch with me maybe 4 to 5 times a day, so only getting in maybe 3 hours / day. As a result I am left to entertaining myself. Oh, Boy! I can run like a ribbon in the wind inside or outside - I do like the fenced yard I must admit. Then they have this thing called a a schedule and make me go outside a lot to use the facilities. I finally gave in and go outside just to make them happy and get a snack. Have you noticed how cold it is in Indiana?? Just please let me stay snuggled up in my blankets or better yet in a good human lap. Apparently they missed the part about me being a huge diva. If it is warmer out, they put me on a leash and parade me around. I do enjoy the attention.

And I have to hold a job! In the morning I am expected to chase the squirrels out of the yard. This interferes with my morning coffee and exercise routine. I have been reduced to waiting until these people are not looking to drink their coffee. I am so ashamed. After squirrels, I go about my daily chore of paper shredding. Sometimes I go the extra effort to find something important or hard to replace. I work so hard at it I don’t know why my efforts are not rewarded more. After some tug sessions and a long nap, I go back to work keeping the counters clear. Kitchen counters and bathrooms need my attention the most. So I am vigilant about removing the clutter and hiding it in a safe place. They really shouldn’t leave things like food and chapstick out.

I have been told I am very healthy, and smart despite being a one dog reality drama show. I am really counting on someone to spring me from this place! I promise I will be your most loyal companion and make sure you never find yourself alone (especially in the bathroom or at night.)

I am available for adoption thru Indiana Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation. Applications can be found at www.summitcityiggies.com or topironhorse2000@hotmail.com. Please return applications via email to indianaigrescue@comcast.net.
